Almost a decade has passed since the first Avatar Movie hit the theaters along with its novelty 3D revival. Now that the blockbuster movie's long-awaited sequel is finally on its way, let us check out how many Avatar Movies are there so you wouldn't miss it.  Avatar Movie: An Overview Avatar is a science fiction series with five planned series written by James Cameron. Its first installment was released last 2019, which became the highest-grossing film of all time [1].  As humans exhaust the Earth's natural resources, the Resources Development Administration (RDA) needs to find a solution to survive the global energy crisis. With this, they've discovered an energy-rich element that only exists on the moon, Pandora. With this, the Scientists managed to create Avatars, half-human, half Na'vi clones. They can freely move and operate in Pandora's poisonous atmosphere.  How Many Films Are There? 1. Avatar (2009)   Synopsis: In the lush rainforest of Pandora, Jake Sully, a war veteran and former marine is a paraplegic, and his adventure as a part of the mission to colonize Pandora began after he slept for six years on a spaceship. After his twin brother Tom died, he had the privilege to replace him, considering they share the same genetics.  Jake had paraplegia for many years, and after being linked in his Avatar, he has been able to walk and run, which made him ecstatic. Together with other Avatars, Jake prepared to integrate with the Na'vi life and was torn between continuing his mission as he developed a strong bond with the tribe.  Box Office Performance: Avatar was released on more than 14,000 screens internationally, which sets the firm as the highest-grossing movie of all time since 2009. After the Avengers: End Game, it became the second-highest-grossing movie in 2019; however, it managed to reclaim the Box Office title after China re-released the movie in 2021.  The first series managed to break multiple box office records around the world. Aside from the $2.85 billion gross of the movie, the film was also considered the fastest movie to gross $1 - $2.5 billion. It also set the highest gross in 3D and IMAX. Critical & Public Response: On a review aggregator website, the film gathered an 81% approval rating with an average rate of 7.4/10. Aside from its storytelling and plot, the technical level of the film made the film more impressive. The film has been universally acclaimed for its pure cinematic magic.  The highest-grossing film made powerful visual accomplishments, but some find the dialogues and the characters flat and obvious. Overall, the 3-D experience for two and ½ hours made the movie more convincing and vivid, as seen in the history of moving pictures.  Awards: Avatar received massive awards from different award-giving bodies, which is never surprising. In the 2009 Academy Awards, Avatar received the Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Visual Effects, Best Achievement in Art Direction from Oscars.  In BAFTA Awards 2010, the team received the Best Production Design and Best Special Visual Effects. Avatar 2 (2022) Synopsis: The Avatar: The Way of Water is all about Jake Sully and Neytiri, who build their own family and will do anything to stay together. They will be forced to leave their home and explore different regions of Pandora. The sequel will widen its universe while exploring the moons of Polyphemus and will focus on the ocean of Pandora.  The story will feature an eight-year time forward where it is intended to be a family story as the protagonist's daughter will be eight years old. As the ancient threat resurfaces, Jake will fight a brutal war against his race, the humans. Release Date: The Avatar 2 will be fully encapsulated with the other sequel, but the release date is on December 17, 2022. Previously, the sequel was set to be in 2014; however, due to different reasons, it was then set to be in 2022.  As 2022 is fastly approaching, Director James Cameron recently announced that the Avatar 2 filming had been wrapped up. The release date will most likely be followed, so let's all cross our fingers. 3. Avatar 3 (2024) Synopsis: The sequel to Avatar 2 is set to be called Avatar: The Seed Bearer. The upcoming American epic science fiction will revolve around the trilogy-scaled arc of the story based on Director James Cameron. The third installment of the Avatar Franchise will not just be about Na'vi as there will be another species of aliens to be introduced in this film.  As no plot has yet been revealed, speculations revolve around its title, The Seed Bearer, which could be from the Na'vi species or the upcoming species to be introduced to.  Release Date: Once the Avatar: The Way of the Water is finally released, Avatar 3 is set to be slated after two years, not later than December 22, 2024. The two sequels were filmed simultaneously, and as the previous sequel wrapped up, the third one is 95%.  Due to coronavirus, the shooting of different films was halted, but New Zealand's response to the pandemic made the production slowly coping up on the delays. Avatar 4 (2026) Synopsis: The fourth installment of the Avatar franchise is planned to be called Avatar: The Tulkun Rider. In this episode, it is rumored that in Avatar Universe, there will be an ascending high priest or shaman. Based on Tibetan Buddhism, Tulku is referred to as someone reborn, where they will be responsible for passing down the specific teachings. Avatar: The Tulkun Rider can be someone or an ancient who will pass down the knowledge to the Na'vi, which will be a great transition for the upcoming Avatar 5.  Release Date: Avatar 4: The Tulkun Rider is set to be released in December 2026. However, the release of the sequel will depend on the success of Avatar: Way of Water and Avatar: The Seed Bearer. Based on Disney CEO, Bob Iger, Avatar 4 is in pre-production, but Disney has not yet given them the green light.  The delays on the sequel are mainly because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and while some are sad about it, the three-year break after Avatar 3 would be very beneficial. Avatar: The Quest for Eywa can revolve around the search for the Pandora Goddess Eywa. In the first Avatar movie, Jake described Eywa as the creator of all living things. The story will revolve around the quest for Eywa, the guiding voice on Na'Vi's home planet. It would be thrilling if she will be found in the last sequel of Avatar, or if she will be found at all.  Release Date: Avatar: The Quest for Eywa is due in December 2028, three years late from its original timeline. The last sequel to Avatar is dependent on the success of Avatar 2 and Avatar 3; however, the team is extremely optimistic about the victorious outcome of the two.  Let us all remain hopeful that Avatar: The Quest of Eywa will land in the cinemas in December 2028 after the successful kickstarter of the two sequels to be released in 2022 and 2024.  FAQs  Why is Avatar so famous? "Long ago, four nations lived together in harmony" is the famous introduction of one of the highest-rated animated series of all time, Avatar. And while this introduction is very remarkable, Avatar proved that cartoons are not just for kids. Our team compiled the top 30 (in no particular order) avatar episodes since we can't get enough of the best episodes of Avatar. Spoilers ahead!  Top 30 Avatar Episodes of All Time  1. Lake Laogai (Book 2, Episode 13) Lake Laogai revolves around choosing your destiny. While the group searches for Appa, they run into Jet, who lies about Appa's whereabouts but eventually breaks Jet's brainwashing.  As they travel to a facility located under Lake Laogai, hoping to find Appa, Zuko finds him before Aang does with the help of the Blue Spirit. Iroh explains to Zuko about the destiny he is trying to choose. Iroh also berates Zuko for not thinking about his plans. Zuko then lets Appa go to Aang and gives up his Blue Spirit disguise.  2. The Storm (Book 1, Episode 12) Episode 12 of Book 1 is the turning point of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The episode is about Aang and Zuko's origin. In this episode, it was revealed that Zuko, the antagonist, is not as evil as we thought, and Aang wasn't heroic before.  Aang revealed to Katara that he disappeared for 100 years because of guilt on a stormy day, which caused the Fire Nation to rise to power. On the other hand, Zuko was banished and was burned by his father. 3. The City Of Walls And Secrets (Book 2, Episode 14) Together with the team, Aang arrived in Ba Sing Se to find Appa and talk to the Earth King about the Black Sun. However, their tour guide, Joo Dee, keeps on hindering them from talking to the King. Katara devised a plan to sneak into a party to meet the Earth King, but Long Feng greeted them.  It turns out that the King has no power, and Long Feng controls the city to ensure that there is no war in Ba Sing Se. If they speak out, Long Feng indirectly threatens them about finding Appa and will be watched 24/7. 4. Sozin's Comet, Part 3: Into The Inferno (Book 3, Episode 20) In Sozin's Comet Part 3, Aang confronts Ozai, and his past life tells him to betray his principles and take the life of Firelord Ozai. However, Aang's peaceful nature prevailed, resulting in Lord Ozai overpowering the Avatar [1].  On the contrary, Azula's mental state begins to deteriorate as her coronation as the Fire Lord approaches. Zuko and Katara interrupted the ceremony as the ceremony began, and Azula challenged her brother with Agni Kai for the crown.  Unfortunately, Zuko was injured with the bolt meant for Katara. At the end of the episode, Zuko and Iroh reunite, and everyone cries.  5. Sokka's Master (Book 3, Episode 4) When Team Avatar saved a town from destruction by a meteorite, Sokka felt left behind. In the rest of the group, he is the only person who cannot bend. He then finds the swordmaster, Piando, to help him develop his skills as a warrior.  Sokka learns to forge his sword using the meteorite, and Piandao teaches him the weapon's versatility. The team misses Sokka and tries to joke around his absence, but they have no success. The Beach (Book 3, Episode 5) When Zuko, Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai were sent on a forced vacation, they attempted to behave like a normal teenager, but they failed. Before the night ends, the four-headed back to Chan's party and began trashing the house. The four villains united for the first time in years.  On the other hand, Aang and his team try to relax in a secluded hot spring where they assume the enemies will not spot them. Unfortunately, their team was recognized, and Fire Lord Ozai received the news that the Avatar was alive. A mysterious assassin attacked the team with firebending capabilities.  7. Sozin's Comet (Book 3, Episode 16) After Sozin's comet passes, Aang decides to fight the Fire Lord. However, his firebending skills need mastery. Zuko then revealed that Lord Ozai plans to burn the entire Earth Kingdom with Sozin's comet power.  The team began the training, but Aang struggled with his friend's decision to kill Lord Ozai against his principles. Aang is then drawn to a mysterious island, and Momo follows him, and his friends cannot locate him. Ozai bequeaths the throne to Azula while Aang awakens on the unknown island. Sozin's Comet: Part 4 – Avatar Aang (Book 3, Episode 2) In Sozin's Comet Part 4, the fight between Aang and Ozai, Ozai accidentally unlocks Aang's chakra that made him enter the Avatar State. The episode climaxes as Aang chooses to win the fight by using an ancient form of bending. He defeated the Phoenix King in the final battle without taking his life.  Sokka and Toph disabled the Fire Nation airships, and the Order of White Lotus successfully liberated Ba Sing Se. As Zuko was injured in Agni Kai, Katara defeated Azula and healed Zuko's injuries. The newly appointed Fire Lord then declared that the war was over, and they all celebrated.  9. The Avatar And The Fire Lord (Book 3, Episode 6) In another double whammy, Aang and Zuko have their epic flashback that dives into the relationship between Fire Lord Sozin, Zuko's great grandfather, and Avatar Roku, Aang's predecessor. The friendship built between Zuko's great grandfather and previous Avatar Roku falls out as the Fire Lord aspires to expand their nation, sacrificing other nations.  The jaw-dropping revelation of Zuko's maternal great grandfather is Avatar Roku, and Zuko's lifelong struggle with choosing good and evil was the legacy of his ancestors.  10. The Blind Bandit (Book 2, Episode 6) The Blind Bandit revolves around the blind 12-year-old girl recruited by Aang to complete the five-person team. During an earthbending tournament, Toph easily won over-muscled fighters using her effortless earthbending skills.  Toph, who lives a double life of being a daughter of a wealthy family and a famous earthbender, will now become Aang's earthbending master. Toph's personality is compared to a tsunami--angry, blunt, and rude that can shake the harmonious ensemble of the team.  11. The Blue Spirit (Book 1, Episode 13) It is the turning point of Zuko from being an antagonist to a complicated ally. In the recap episode, Aang was captured by Admiral Zhao, and his friends were immobilized due to cold. It seems that in this chapter, Avatar: The Last Airbender will come to an end.  However, a mysterious masked figure, Blue Spirit, rescued Aang out of jail. The blue spirit is no other than Zuko, who happens to be Aang's sworn enemy. Isn't it confusing? Zhao happens to be Zuko's bigger enemy, but what is his intention of saving the last Airbender? 12. The Boiling Rock (Book 3, Episode 13) In the first part of the Boiling Rock, Zuko and Sokka manage to get into the high-security to save Sokka's father. They find Sokka's Dad and Suki, devise a new plan to escape by creating a prison riot and kidnapping the warden. But the plan was almost ruined because of Mai, Azula, and Ty Lee visiting the prison. However, Mai strangely helps the four escape, and Ty Lee attacks her for betraying the Fire Nation. The Chase (Book 2, Episode 8) A good tale is as good as their villain, and in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Azula is the greatest villain. The Fire Nation Princess, who has a chilling charisma and ruthless maneuvers, surpass the Fire Lord Ozai.  In the Chase, after Aang's team welcomed Toph, they were chased by a relentless mysterious machine which made it impossible for them to stop or sleep. Because of their restlessness, everyone on the team became irritable, and a quarrel between them happened.  Aang acts as a decoy, but Azula corners him. The team almost took down Azula, but she managed to injure Iroh and then escaped. 14. The Ember Island Players (Book 3, Episode 15) The Ember Island Players is a filler episode and a comedic breather that breaks the intense and heavy plot on the best episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The fans love the Ember Island Players because of its traditional structure with a meta twist.  The episode is full of hilarious one-liners and nods, constantly crying Katara, Zuko's absurd hairstyles, and jokes about "honor". The Firebending Masters (Book 3, Episode 12) After their defeat in the Fire Nation, the team travels to the Western Air Temple to seek refuge. The whole gang has to walk because Appa is tired of carrying so many people. Zuko arrives first, descends into the temple, and recalls his first week after he banishes with fresh burns and bandages.  He reached out to Aang to join their team and prove his character development, but Katara remains doubtful of his intention. After saving the team from the Cumbustion Man, Aang accepts him as his firebending teacher, but she warns him about the consequences.  16. The Firebending Masters, Book 3, Episode 13 As Zuko switched sides and joined the Team Avatar, he prepared to teach Aang, the Last Airbender, firebending. However, he loses his firebending abilities. With this, the two of them decided to travel to the ancient civilization of firebenders, the Sun Warriors. The last two survivors on the original firebenders are the two dragons, Ran and Shaw. For Aang and Suzu to face the Firebending Masters, they have to prove that they are worthy. Fortunately, they passed the test, and the firebending masters taught them; Zuko's firebending ability was also restored.  17. The Guru/The Crossroads Of Destiny (Book 2, Episode 18) Azula became the ruler of Ba Sing Se, and the Team Avatar, along with Iroh and his nephew, is in defense. Azula claims that the Earth Kingdom is a city for the Fire Nation and the team's alliance easily broke down.  Zuko made the ultimate wrong choice of betraying Aang and his uncle to side with Azula. With the strong power of Azula, he managed to defeat Long Feng and struck down Aang with her lightning bolt. Aang was in his vulnerable Avatar state, but Katara managed to bring him back from the dead. 18. The Painted Lady (Book 3, Episode 3) In this episode, Katara showcased her selflessness, bravery and did not neglect reality. A Village in Fire Nation is filled with sick and starving people, and Katara can't help but took extreme measures to heal the sick and provide food.  She disguised herself as the Painted Lady, the river spirit of the locals, and healed the sick people and gave them food as they slept. Aang discovered her selfless action, so they blew up the enemy's military supplies.  19. The Puppetmaster (Book 3, Episode 8) The Puppetmaster is one of the most disturbing but best episodes in the Avatar: The Last Airbender. When the main characters stop in a small town, they hear a lot of tales about people disappearing in the woods during the full moon.  They then befriend Hama, an elderly innkeeper who presented herself as a waterbender who escaped from the prison. Katara was thrilled to learn from Hama, who taught her how to bend water. However, Sokka discovers that Hama was behind the disappearances of the people in the village and uses it for horrifying bloodbending.  20. The Siege Of The North (Book 1, Episodes 19) In the penultimate episode of the first season, the Fire Nation's armada prepares to attack the Northern Water Tribe. The Tribe, along with Sokka, prepares for defense since Yue said she could not be connected with him anymore. Iroh and Zhao lead the invasion, and the Tribe is battling for the entire day.  On the other hand, Prince Zuko created his Tribe to search for Avatar Aang. As Aang learns to venture into the Spirit World and Katara is on his side to protect him, Zuko enters. Princess Yue seeks help leaving the two.  However, as the sun rises, Zuko's firebending increases, and he manages to win. Prince Zuko then kidnaps Aang's body and leaves Katara unconscious.  21. The Siege Of The North: Part 2 (Book 1, Episode 20) At the end of the first season, The Siege of the North Part 2 gave us a realistic ending. Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes are filled with sacrifices, tragedy, and loss. As the Fire Nation invades the city, the Team Avatar searches for Zuko and Aang.  While Aang's spirit is fighting Koh, the face stealer, Zuko is struggling to find a refuge on the frozen waste of the North Pole. Fortunately, the returning spirit of Aang guides the three, but it is too late for them to stop Zhao from slaying the Moon Spirit in mortal form. The episode ends with all waterbenders lose their ability to waterbend.  22. The Southern Air Temple (Book 1, Episode 3) In one of the best episodes, Aang suggested visiting the Southern Air Temple, where he recalls his old mentor, friends, and the games he used to play. Aang learned that the Fire Nation had eradicated the Air Nomads and discovered Gyatso's skeleton. Aang got angry and entered the Avatar State. With this, the world was alerted that the Last Airbender had returned.  On the contrary, Zuko and Iroh run into Commander Zhao after finding out that the Avatar, the Last Airbender, has returned. He and Zhao had a duel to decide who would track the Avatar, and Zuko won.  23. The Tales Of Ba Sing Se, Book 2, Episode 15 It was a simple day for the Team Avatar. The Tales of Ba Sing Se is an emotional episode that brought tears to all the fans. The episode flashes back to the story of Iroh, who wanders around Ba Sing Se and helps everyone who crosses paths with him.  At the end of his wanderings in the Ba Sing Se, he set up an altar for his son. It was his son's death anniversary, and he sang "Leaves from the Vine" in a shaking and sad voice. The segment was also dedicated to the late Mako, who first voiced Iroh.  24. The Warriors Of Kyoshi (Book 1, Episode 4) In this episode, Aang decided to bring Katara and Sokka to Kyoshi Island to ride a giant Koi fish. However, after their close encounter with unagi, Team Avatar was captured by the group of female warriors. Avatar Kyoshi and the villagers did not believe that Aang was the reincarnation of Kyoshi Island's founder, so he demonstrated his airbending skills. Zuko received the news and arrived on the island, and attacked the whole village. Before the Team Avatar departs, Aang ride and controls the unagi to douse the flames on the village and save it from total ruin.  25. Zuko Alone (Book 2, Episode 7) The chapter revolves around Zuko when he parted ways with his uncle and lived alone as the disgraced outcast prince of the Fire Nation. He became a poor boy that the Earth Kingdom military thugs are terrorizing.  He struggles with his tortured past while reckoning with the horrors of the war. The story ends with a sad and bitter note that Zuko's good deeds were brushed aside by people he was trying to help.  26. The Day Of The Black Sun, Part 1: The Invasion (Book 3, Episode 10) On the day of the invasion, the Last Airbender greets everyone with confidence in his mind that he can face the Fire Lord. Aang plans to use a different approach to win over the Fire Lord.  On the other hand, Hakoda, with his ragtag team he met during their adventures, returned. They were able to infiltrate the Fire Nation Capital and breaks through multiple security barriers. The Waterbending Master (Book 1, Episode 18) When the group arrives at the Northern Water Tribe, the tribe leader throws a huge welcome party for the Avatar's arrival. Aang and Katara seek to learn waterbending, but the waterbending master Pakku declined to teach her due to sexist custom. Aang tried to teach her secretly but was caught, so he was also removed from the program. Katara was determined and eager to learn waterbending, so she challenged Pakku. She loses, but since Pakku learned that she was the granddaughter of the woman he loved, he decided to teach the two. Zhao attempted to assassinate Suko, but he survived.  28. The Awakening (Book 3, Episode 1) In the first episode of Book 3, Zuko and Azula were welcomed as heroes of the Fire Nation. Fire Lord Ozai congratulates his son, Zuko, as Azula told him that he struck Aang down. However, he believes that the Avatar has survived.  On the other hand, Aang awakens with a gravely wounded state on a Fire Nation ship stolen by his friends. Daredevil and Black Widow have a complicated relationship in the Marvel Universe. On one hand, they’re dating and in love, and on the flip side, they’re at each others’ throats.  In this roundup, we’ll take a look at the individual characters’ strengths and weaknesses to give you an accurate rundown of their would-be performance against each other in a fight.  Ready? Here’s Daredevil vs Black Widow.  Daredevil or Black Widow - Who Wins? Black Widow and Daredevil have their fair share of unique capabilities and excellent qualities that make them stand out in fights. But who would win should they fight it out against one another?  At first glance, it would look as though Natasha would have the advantage, as she has all five senses fully intact. Plus, she also uses deadly weaponry in battle, so it looks like it won’t be tough to imagine who would win this fight.  However, Daredevil can form mental pictures of his surroundings despite the loss of eyesight. He would be able to tell exactly where she is in a fight by listening to her breaths and heartbeat and thus tell her next moves. He would be able to counter, block, or attack, depending on what the fight calls for.  Daredevil Super Skills Enhanced Super Senses Matt Murdock is rendered blind by a freak accident. When a truck containing radioactive substance loses control and hits him, he loses his vital sense of sight. His other senses get enhanced beyond the superhuman level, though, and he is miraculously able to create an accurate mental picture of his surroundings. He calls this an “impressionistic painting.”  He deciphers atmospheric changes that aren’t easily felt by normal people, such as minuscule temperature variations, the difference in air density, balance, and even direction. This makes him fully aware of his surroundings and heightens his sensitivity to danger and fights.  Lie Detection Because Daredevil’s ears are so acute, he is able to tell when people are lying based on the rate of their heartbeats. This skill manages to come in handy during his day job as a defense attorney. He is also able to decipher conversations and even breaths from several meters away.  Echolocation He can determine the accurate size and distance of objects around him with the help of echolocation, or the interpretation of sound waves made by nearby objects and other matter [1]. He knocks his Billy Club against objects and immediately manages to create a mental picture of his surroundings. He would have precise knowledge of where the bad guys are (like the Hand Ninjas) just by listening to the stomping of their feet, their breaths, and the swoosh of their weapons against the air.  Electroreception Thanks to his advanced senses, Daredevil is able to detect and hear electrical currents, even those coming behind walls. He located and unlocked a secret room using this skill by simply identifying where the electrical current in the wall was cut off.  Balance Despite losing sight, he has perfect balance and equilibrium that comes in handy during a fight. His agility and reflexes are superhuman, and he can easily and instinctively duck approaching objects and enemies by simply listening to the sounds they make while traversing through the air.  Fighting Ability  Daredevil is trained by a fellow blind man named Stick in the martial arts. Unlike Matt, though, Stick was born blind. He is in charge of recruiting and training worthy soldiers to grow the Chaste army, loyal to the Iron Fist. As a result, Daredevil is skilled in boxing, kung fu, muay thai, taekwondo, ninjutsu, and even pro-wrestling at a young age.  The Billy Club is Daredevil’s personal weapon that doubles as his walking cane. It can be split in two to create nunchucks, steel batons, or a manrikigusari, which is a long chain weapon with weights on both ends. It can also be thrown like a boomerang during fights or wrapped around his opponents to ensnare them. It is made from steel fiber that makes the weapon nearly indestructible.  Because he is not capable of flying, he uses the club as a grappling hook to assist with ascending and descending.   Shop The Marvel Collection Now Black Widow Master Spy As one of the best Marvel characters, Natasha Romanoff was trained as a young girl to become one of the Soviet’s sleeper agents. The program, aptly called the Black Widow Program, was held in the Red Room facility. Young girls are trained in stealth, espionage, infiltration, and disguise to turn them into elite and deadly assassins.  Aside from the intensive training, the young girls were also injected with the Soviet’s version of the super-soldier serum, which gave them peak human strength and stamina and slowed down their aging. Their wounds also heal faster, and they are made invulnerable to diseases, thanks to this serum.  Fighting Skills Although MCU Black Widow does not have any innate superpowers, she is an exquisite fighter, thanks to the super spy training program. She is possibly one of the best female fighters in the entire world. She is highly skilled in judo, karate, boxing, savate, aikido, kung fu, and the lucha-libre style of wrestling.  She also has a mastery of advanced weaponry and heavily relies on these during fights. One of her most dangerous attacks is the Black Widow’s Bite, a powerful electroshock current that can incapacitate and even kill bad guys.  Grappling Hook Just like the Daredevil, she also cannot fly and uses the help of her Grappling Hook instead. The Grappling Hook is attached to her armor and comes in handy in case of a fall as it can support her weight and slow down any potentially deadly drop. She also uses the Hook to scale tall buildings.  Black Widow Baton The Batons are electroshock sticks that deal powerful electrical currents in any fight. These powerful shocks hit and stun her foes so she can finish them off with deadly blows during fights. The batons glow with a blue light and can be assembled to create a long staff. She acquired these weapons from Tony Stark (of course).  Taser Disk Shooting Her bracelets can also shoot taser disks that deal tremendous damage in a fight. They are small, disk-shaped objects that move quickly across space but deliver strong electric discharges that are enough to paralyze.  Aside from the small Taser Disks, her bracelets can also discharge mighty Electrical Blasts. Yes, they dated in the Marvel Black Widow comics. They even briefly moved to San Francisco to start a new life together and, in the course, became crime-fighting vigilantes.  However, Natasha felt as though Matt did not perceive her as an equal and was not taking her skills into consideration, so they ultimately broke up.  Aside from Daredevil, she also dated other guys, including Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier), Clint Barton (Hawkeye), and even Tony Stark (Iron Man) in the Marvel universe. Sadly, this was not explored in the movies.  Is Daredevil better than Black Widow? Yes. Daredevil would probably beat her in a fight. This serum caused them to develop superhuman abilities and endurance and has even slowed down their aging. They are also invulnerable to diseases.  Weapons & Tools Where Widow truly shines is her mastery of advanced equipment. Among her most popular trinkets are the Widow’s Bite [1] bracelets, which project massive electrical currents that can disorient and incapacitate her targets. The same current can also destroy any electromechanical equipment, whatever its distance.  The batons used in the Black Widow comics are electroshock sticks that can be assembled to form a staff. In the DC comic books, she is the girlfriend of Batman.  Selina grew up in an orphanage after her parents' deaths, but upon discovering the system’s corruption, she was put in a bag and left to drown in a river, just like a cat. However, she survived this ordeal and went back to the orphanage, where she stole a valuable diamond necklace as revenge.  She wandered the streets and set foot in Alleytown, where she met Mama Fortuna. Mama Fortuna was the elderly leader of a gang of young thieves who taught her how to steal effectively. While Mama Fortuna imparted valuable techniques that she leveraged later on in life, she treated her students like slaves.  Eventually, she escaped with a friend, and out of desperation, worked as a prostitute at one point to support herself.  Fighting Skills Catwoman is the type of fighter who would rather evade her enemies. This is not to say she’s not a capable fighter, though. She’s a master at martial arts after training with the Armless Master and Wildcat, and we have reason to believe that she can even take down the Dark Knight himself, Batman. Her moves are precise, agile, and speedy.  Abilities Catwoman’s ability to remain stealthy on all occasions makes her stand out in a fight. In order to pull this off, she uses agility and different aliases in order to manipulate and outsmart her enemies. Before you could even realize what hit you, she’s long gone. It’s said that she met Batman on a boat while she was using one of her disguises.  Behind the scenes, though, she’s extremely affectionate to felines and can easily train and bond with them. She can rely on them to come to her defense when she needs them the most.  Weapons & Tools Catwoman’s favorite weapon is the bullwhip and a cat o’ nine tails whip. It’s said that she chose this weapon over other things because regular people have a hard time maneuvering whips, so even if they are forcibly taken from her, the whips cannot be used effectively against her.  She’s also an expert at handling handguns. If you’re a huge fan of superhero movies, you may have heard Marvel vs DC pitted against one another at some point.  Well, we’re here to settle the score once and for all. We’ll dive deep into the franchises’ themes, their similarities and differences, and which franchise ultimately has the best heroes.  Here’s the rundown on the Marvel vs DC showdown.  DC vs Marvel Marvel and DC both have their cult followings and have become pop culture icons over the past few years. The inception of these two universes goes as far back as the 1900s, during the Golden and Silver Ages of Comic Books. How many times have you heard a duo referring to themselves as “Batman and Robin” or that someone turned so green and angry, it was a surprise that they didn’t turn into “the Hulk?”  And while, sure, both the Marvel and DC universes may be stories about a band of iconic heroes and their adventures (or misadventures), we’re sure you’d get beaten to a pulp as soon as you utter the darned words: “They’re basically the same.”  Superhero movies have become all the rage over the past decade, and you may be wondering why Marvel movies have no problem dominating the box office while DC movies struggle with gaining traction. (And even if they do get reviews, they’re not usually positive.) So how come Marvel seemingly knows the secret sauce to make their films stand out, but DC can’t even get their recipe right?  Here is an in-depth look at both the DC and Marvel universes and their similarities and differences.  How Marvel and DC Started  Marvel  Marvel Comics was first published in 1939, during the Golden Age of the comic industry, by a magazine publisher named Martin Goodman. It was first called Timely Comics and featured Human Torch, Angel, and Namor, the Sub-Mariner. The comics sold 80,000 copies. In 1941, Captain America was introduced as one of the first patriotically themed superheroes in history.  Stan Lee was only 16 years old when he started working for the publication as a general office assistant and eventually became editor. He wrote extensively and contributed to plenty of titles.  In the 1950s, the brand noticed that the superhero trope was falling out of style. So they expanded into a wider variety of genres, including horror, humor, talking animals, romance, crime, and war comics.  At the turn of the decade, though, they noticed that their biggest competitor DC Comics (known then as National Comics Publications), was getting traction with their Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman characters. So they took inspiration and followed suit. They rebranded their superheroes and introduced characters that would appeal to older audiences, which they eventually called Marvel Age of Comics. They debuted with the Fantastic Four.  Timely Publications changed its name to Atlas Magazines, and eventually to Marvel Comic in the 1960s.  DC DC Comics was first released in 1934, making it five years older than Marvel. It was first published under National Allied Publications. It was changed to DC Comics much later in 1977, whose inspiration came from their popular series Detective Comics, which featured Batman.  Its first publications were New Fun Comics and Adventure Comics in 1935, Detective Comics with Batman in 1937, and Action Comics with Superman in 1938.  In the mid-1950s, during what is known as the Silver Age of Comic Books, they decided to revive Flash, one of their old characters. They reinvented the speedster and gave him a better identity as a civilian, a “flashier” costume, and a science-fiction origin story. He proved sufficiently popular to the audience that they revamped most of their older characters, including Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the rest of the Justice League of America.  Read: Who Owns DC Comics? Marvel and DC Themes and Characters   Marvel  If you look at the central theme of Marvel comics, you will likely notice that the superheroes you look up to come from ordinary people like you and me. They have innate flaws, fears, hopes, and dreams before being subjected to gamma rays or other freak occurrences that grant them their powers.  Peter Parker was just a regular high school kid when a radioactive spider bites him on a class field trip. He calls himself Spider-Man and now has superhuman abilities. He takes care of the citizens of New York, all while trying to get good grades in school and staying out of trouble.  Ultimately, Marvel brings its characters’ humanness to the forefront. Just like us, we see them striving to be good people while trying to control their powers. The comic book characters are not exempt from making mistakes, making them relatable.  DC Most of DC’s characters are born great and come from far away planets. They are often bestowed with great powers since birth. This makes them all-powerful and elevates them above normal humans. Their storylines are always about protecting the innocent from the evildoers and exhibiting perfect, positive qualities.  Although we get it — DC comics characters are godlike and perfect, and it’s mostly just a fantasy world, but it makes us think that the only way we can be considered good people is if we were perfect, too.  Shop The DC Justice League Collection Now Marvel and DC Notable Differences  Franchises The DC universe relies heavily on their superheroes’ identities. This is visible in the obvious dichotomy between Superman and Batman fans. Each of the films in the franchise also feels distinctly different from one another as many of the films’ directors take artistic liberty. The entire franchise is also geared towards an older audience, as they deal with much more complex issues like prostitution, abuse, and mental health.  The Marvel franchise is undoubtedly more popular than DC. Marvel fans are religious followers of the franchise itself, never mind that each movie tells the story of a different character. You wouldn’t see fans fighting heatedly over whether Iron Man is better than Captain America because the fans love the heroes individually.  Movies 2008 was a glorious year for both high-grossing franchises as two films from the respective universes came out on the silver screen (DC’s The Dark Knight and Marvel’s Iron Man).  A central theme in DC movies is darkness, both literally and figuratively. There is no doubt that the movies are visually stunning, but the scenes are encased in so much darkness that it’s hard to figure out what’s happening at times. And don’t even get us started on the movie themes and characters — Joaquin Phoenix’s interpretation of the Joker, while brilliant, left us shuddering.  The most popular DC movie to date is still The Dark Knight trilogy, directed by Christopher Nolan. It starred Christian Bale and Heath Ledger — however, these movies are not even technically part of the DCEU (DC Extended Universe). [1] The Marvel Cinematic Universe is colorful, fun, and bright, thanks to Kevin Fiege, the president of Marvel Studios, and his signature touch. The movies are not afraid to take themselves lightly, with Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor coming to mind in terms of comedic relief. There is an air of child-like innocence as soon as the film opens, and there is linearity in all of the films — you wouldn’t have to guess that you’re watching a Marvel movie.  Robert Downey, Jr. played Tony Stark in 2008 so well that he became a household name, despite Iron Man not having a particularly strong following before the movies. The Marvel movies also touch on pretty heavy human subjects, such as loss, self-doubt, and despair, which leaves us wanting to offer the superheroes a shoulder to cry on.  Location DC comics cities like Gotham City, Smallville, and Metropolis are pure fiction, but they are supposedly prominent cities in the United States in the comics universe.  Their idea of going this route was that they wanted the readers to feel like the cities mentioned in the fantasy comics could be anywhere — even the next city.  Marvel uses plenty of real locations, with New York City, Houston, and Los Angeles being the most prominent. While the landmarks featured are fiction (the last time we checked, there was no Avengers Headquarters nor a Daily Bugle publication in New York), it makes the fans feel as though they might just encounter their favorite Marvel superheroes if they look hard enough.  Comics In DC comics, superpowers are highly accepted. In fact, DC heroes like the Man of Steel and Wonder Woman are highly adored and revered by the public for their great power. They are seen as beacons of light who have come to protect them from the bad guys and save the day. On the other hand, the public is not as welcoming of mutants in Marvel comics. Some Marvel characters are seen as freaks of nature (X-men, Scarlet Witch, and the Bruce Banner are a few examples). This leaves our heroes with a lot of self-doubt and distrust. Universe In the make-believe universe of DC comics, they explored the fantasy of living a life with inborn superpowers, good qualities, and having people look up to you and adore you. DC’s heroes didn’t just have mere superpowers; they were powers that extended far beyond what you can imagine.  In the Marvel universe, our favorite heroes are real people experiencing real issues in life. Superman is thought of as a savior who can do no wrong and is the most powerful in the entire universe. Wonder Woman is born out of clay and was brought to life by the ancient Greek gods, granting her godlike strength and invulnerability.  In Marvel, the superheroes are mere mortals who get into some kind of freak accident that involves radiation exposure. Some wake up with powers they don’t want at first, but learn to control over time.  Steve Rogers was just a man enlisting to the army when he got injected with the super-soldier serum. It was initially a super-soldier program for World War II, but as Steve was the only one injected, he became a secret soldier and eventually Captain America. On the other hand, Doctor Strange is an arrogant neurosurgeon who learns about mysticism and magic when he loses his dexterity.  FAQs  Between Marvel and DC, who has the strongest heroes? Fans of both Marvel and DC have argued plenty of times over which franchise ultimately has the strongest heroes. Both franchises have special heroes that bring something different to the table, and neither scale is tipped significantly more in favor of the other.  We can, however, commend the camaraderie that is present in the Avengers lineup more than the Justice League of America. Both Marvel and DC have ripped each other off many times. Marvel did take note of a few DC comics concepts but put their personal twist on them. Marvel Studios introduced the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man in 2008. Phase One starts with Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Incredible Hulk, and the first Avengers movie.  Phase Two includes the Marvel films Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Ant-Man.  Phase Three, on the other hand, includes the Marvel movies Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.  Phase Four has begun with the release of the Marvel movies Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.  Chronological Order  1. Captain America: The First Avenger  We start off with the first MCU movie, Captain America: The First Avenger, which takes place right in the middle of World War Two. We become privy to Steve Rodgers, played by Chris Evans, enlisting to the military. He gets injected with a “super-soldier serum” and becomes the first Avenger.  2. Captain Marvel  The second Marvel movie is Captain Marvel. In 1995, a chance landing on Earth made Vers, or Carol Danvers, remember her previous life. She discovers that her powers came from a Kree explosion and that the Kree empire she had been serving had been manipulating her all along.  3. Iron Man Iron Man is third on the list of MCU movies. Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey, Jr., is a genius engineer and CEO of Stark Industries who gets kidnapped by a terrorist group that wants him to create a weapon of mass destruction. Stark crafts an armored suit to help him escape instead.  In the post-credits scene of the Marvel Studios film, we see Nick Fury approach Stark and tell him that he’s not the only superhero in the world, insinuating the beginning of the Avengers.  4. Iron Man 2  Stark has assumed the Iron Man identity and uses his suit for peaceful means, but he discovers that the arc reactor keeping him alive is slowly poisoning his body. He gets inspiration from his father’s old documents and ends his palladium dependency.  5. The Incredible Hulk The first and only Incredible Hulk Marvel movie did not cast Mark Ruffalo, but rather Edward Norton. Bruce Banner is working to recreate the “super-soldier program” from World War II. However, the experiment fails, and the prolonged exposure to gamma rays causes him to transform into the Hulk whenever his heart rate rises above 200 beats per minute.  Read: Marvels Premiere: All You Need To Know 6. Thor Thor takes place the same year as Iron Man 2. An arrogant Thor is exiled to Earth, stripped of Mjolnir and all his powers. He begins life with Jane Foster, an astrophysicist looking for a bridge between different worlds.  7. The Avengers  The long-awaited team-up finally happens in the first Avengers movie. The Chitauri, an extraterrestrial race, is on Earth looking for the Tesseract. Loki is promised a powerful army in exchange for the Tesseract, which he steals successfully.  The Avengers do their best to protect New York and successfully obtain the Tesseract. Thor offers to return both Loki and the Tesseract to Asgard.  8. Iron Man 3    After almost dying during the New York battle, Stark has trouble sleeping and suffers from PTSD. He uses this time to create dozens of Iron Man suits, to the dismay of people around him.  Pepper Potts gets subjected to a faulty regenerative treatment called Extremis. Stark helps to get it stabilized, and he goes into surgery to remove the shrapnel near his heart.  9. Thor: The Dark World  Thor: The Dark World takes place during Loki’s hearing for his crimes on Earth. Dr. Jane Foster gets teleported to another world and accidentally absorbs the Aether, an Infinity Stone.  Malekith is awakened by this occurrence and attacks Asgard, wanting the Aether for himself. Captain America: The Winter Soldier The events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier happen two years after the battle of New York. Steve Rogers is working for SHIELD and discovers that his best friend, Bucky Barnes, is the assassin working for Hydra, an opposing terrorist group. Guardians of the Galaxy  When Marvel Studios first released this, no one thought it would be a hit. One of the best Marvel movies tells the story of Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy. We get to know cybernetically modified raccoon Rocket, tree-like creature Groot, Drax the Destroyer, and Thanos’s adoptive daughter Gamora.  12. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 takes place just a few months after the first volume. We get to meet other lovable Marvel characters and learn about Peter Quill’s past. If you ask us, though, the best part of this movie is Baby Groot.  13. Avengers: Age of Ultron  In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the team travels to Sokovia and raids a Hydra facility experimenting on humans. Two of their test subjects were Pietro and Wanda Maximoff (Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch).  Stark creates Ultron from the artificial intelligence used in the experiment. Ant-Man Scott Lang is an ex-criminal who unknowingly accepts a job to steal the Ant-Man suit for money. He briefly fights Falcon in the Avengers headquarters while attempting to steal a device and discovers the existence of the subatomic Quantum Realm.  15. Captain America: Civil War The events of Captain America: Civil War happened a year after Ultron is defeated. The death of a few civilians leads the government to interfere with the Avengers’ business. The Avengers team is divided; on the one hand, Stark feels the guilt of having created Ultron, while Rogers trusts his own judgment more than that of politicians.  16. Black Widow  After Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, betrays Iron Man and helps Steve and Bucky escape, she is exiled. She gets in touch with her foster family from when she lived undercover from when she was a young girl.  17. Spider-Man: Homecoming  The first of the Spider-Man movies takes place a few months after Captain America: Civil War. Peter Parker is fighting not only the bad guys in Spider-Man: Homecoming but also his own teenage hormones. Stark gives him a superior spider suit that, unfortunately, has a tracker to ensure no funny business. But is Spiderman from DC or Marvel? 18. Doctor Strange  The events of Doctor Strange and Spider-Man are happening at the same time. Dr. Stephen Strange is an arrogant neurosurgeon who loses his dexterity after a car accident. Desperate, he travels to the East and meets the Ancient One who restores his ability and teaches him mysticism and magic.  19. Black Panther  In Black Panther, we see T’Challa resuming the Wakanda throne after the untimely death of his father. The Black Panther position gets challenged by a man calling himself Killmonger, who revealed himself to be N'Jadaka, rightful heir to the throne.  20. Thor: Ragnarok Thor: Ragnarok takes place two years after the battle of Sokovia. When he discovers that his father Odin is missing and that Loki has been posing as him for some time, he travels to Earth to seek help from Doctor Strange to find him.  21. Avengers: Infinity War  The whole of Avengers: Infinity War happens in a mere 48 hours. Thanos is collecting all six Infinity Stones, and the Avengers are beating him to it. The Infinity War movie ends with Thanos’s devastating snap that destroys half of humanity, including some of our favorite Avengers.  22. Ant-Man and The Wasp Right before Thanos snaps his fingers, another story is taking place. Scott Lang is on house arrest following the events of Sokovia when he gets kidnapped by Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne (Wasp) to traverse into the Quantum Realm using the Ant-Man suit.  23. Avengers: Endgame Twenty-three days after Infinity War, Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel) reaches Earth and helps the remaining heroes. They locate Thanos on an uninhabited planet and discover that he has destroyed all of the Infinity Stones.  In the last of the Avengers movies, they build a time machine and use it to travel the past to save the present.  24. Spider-Man: Far From Home The second Spider-Man movie takes place eight months after Avengers: Endgame. Peter Parker is mourning the death of Tony Stark, who has become a father figure to him. He refuses to join the new team of Avengers but discovers that he is one of the few the world can truly rely upon after a betrayal. But how many Spiderman movies are there? 25. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is one of the newest Marvel movies. The Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero genre movies are highly rated and enjoyed by audiences of all ages. Black Panther (2018) Black Panther was a global phenomenon. It was the first superhero film in history to have been nominated for an Academy Award. Black Panther featured the fantasy country Wakanda, which had been posing as a Third-World country not to expose its highly technological and potentially dangerous advancements. Its wide array of African-American cast members and their stunning performances paved the way for their nation and culture’s much-needed representation in the film industry. Avengers: Endgame (2019) To mark the decade, Marvel Studios released Avengers: Endgame, a glorious event movie that ended Phase Two of the Infinity Saga. The movie takes you on a roller coaster ride with more than a few emotional scenes in between. It’s quite messy in a way, with each of the MCU characters you know and love having their own moments, but it ties everything up in a neat little bow at the very end.  3. Thor: Ragnarok (2017) There wasn’t much love for Thor in his first Marvel film, but all of that changed with the release of Thor: Ragnarok in 2017. Chris Hemsworth is back as the God of Thunder, but he’s no longer the cliched, handsome god spewing bits of poetry, but rather a wise-cracking man who isn’t afraid to cry, show his vulnerability, and gain a few pounds. Iron Man (2008) We were given a glimpse of the first MCU movie in 2008 with the release of Iron Man. Sure, the title character wasn’t nearly as popular as Superman or Batman, but the performance of Robert Downey, Jr. as the red-armored smooth-talking hero had people talking and raving about him for years to come; it was the definition of perfect casting. It paved the way for people to start getting hooked on other Marvel superheroes. The first-ever superhero movie from the MCU might be over ten years old, but it still deserves a spot on top, in our opinion. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) The strange ensemble called the Guardians of the Galaxy were basically unknown entities… until they blew up theaters in 2014. Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy was a perfect mix of quirky characters, a hilarious script, and a nostalgic soundtrack. It just goes to show that people are open to the idea of a non-traditional take on superhero movies. Who would’ve thought that a talking tree would turn out to be the cutest character in the entire MCU?  6. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)  Just when you thought people were sick of Spider-Man, Marvel Studios turned it around when they cast Tom Holland for the role. Tom Holland is the third to play Peter Parker and to don the web-shooting red and blue suit, but somehow this Spider-Man movie remains fresh and fun with his interpretation. Spider-Man: Homecoming is a funny teen drama that showcases the life of a normal teenage boy dealing with school, crushes, and prom, all while trying to save the citizens of New York, making it all the more relatable. But how many Spiderman movies are there? 7. The Avengers (2012)  When news broke out that Marvel Studios was planning on doing the Avengers, people assumed the movie would be a hot mess. After all, how do you put so many stars with different backstories and a cult following for each of their feature films in one movie and not have everything crash and burn?  Although the idea seemed highly ambitious, Marvel Studios pulled it off and created one of the best superhero ensembles in movie history. Surely you remember the goosebumps up and down your arm as the camera panned 360 and showed all of the heroes fighting back to back for the first time.  It’s also the first time we see Mark Ruffalo as The Incredible Hulk, after replacing Edward Norton. [1] 8. Doctor Strange (2016) Doctor Strange was a great visual treat featuring an Inception-style city bending, but we think the plot could’ve been written a little bit better. Captain America: Civil War (2016)  Although Captain America’s name is on the movie title, this feels like an Avengers film more than anything else. Captain America: Civil War features many of our Marvel favorites, but this time they’re fighting against each other when the government tries to intervene in the way they choose to run things. The movie features some of the funniest supporting characters in Luis (Michael Pena) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) Because the first volume of the Guardians movie left the Marvel fans wanting more, Marvel gave them more… but not in a good way. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was more of a rehash of the first one, and it tried to give us the same magic present in the first installment but fell quite short of its mark. This movie introduced us to many more lovable characters, though, such as Mantis, and of course, Baby Groot.  13. Captain Marvel (2019)   We felt like Captain Marvel should’ve been introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe a bit earlier. The first female character movie felt like a bit of an afterthought, as though the producers decided to give Captain Marvel an origin story just because she would be an integral character in Endgame. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) Captain America: The First Avenger is a sepia-toned film set in World War II. While it’s not the most memorable, the first Captain America movie is a great stand-alone movie. Chris Evans plays Steve Rogers, a soldier too scrawny to officially enlist for the army but gets chosen as a recipient to the super-soldier serum. This decision in the movie would make you agree that no one else deserved it more.  Read: Our Favorite Marvel Gifts 15. Thor (2011) Thor wasn’t always the wise-cracking god. The first interpretation of his character was very cliched, spewing bits of serious poetry here and there with a dour and ponderous expression. It didn’t contribute much to the series except to introduce the titular character as a mainstay. Where this film got it right, though, was its casting of Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Hiddleston is just so charismatic that even though Loki should be despicable, we don’t hate him.  16. Iron Man 3 (2013) The Iron Man trilogy ends on a less-than-stellar note, with Iron Man 3 being slightly better than its predecessor. The film revolves around the aftermath of the Battle of New York and Tony Stark’s post-traumatic stress disorder and insomnia, which showed the audience that even superheroes are not exempt from trauma. One thing diehard fans noted about the movie was that instead of focusing on Iron Man like the other two films, the movie centered around Tony Stark instead.  17. Thor: The Dark World (2013)  Thor: The Dark World feels like it’s nothing more than a filler film. The plot was slow-moving with forgettable villains. It’s even said that Malekith, the villain of this movie, is the worst villain in Marvel Cinematic Universe history. Marvel comic book loyalists have complained about him being entirely Aether-dependent. Without the Aether, Malekith in the movie is neither powerful nor menacing.  18. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) The 2014 movie introduced us to Bucky Barnes, more commonly known as the Winter Soldier, who proves to be vital in Infinity War and Endgame. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers recognizes his old friend from the military, who somehow turned into a sleeper agent for an opposing terrorist group called Hydra. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) Avengers: Age of Ultron is arguably the weakest out of all Avengers movies. Ultron comes from an artificial intelligence structure that Tony Stark creates a body for, as he was under the impression that a robot with a body could prove to be more effective than the rest of the Avengers combined should they need assistance. Boy, was he wrong when Ultron started fighting against them instead of with them.  20. Iron Man 2 (2010) Robert Downey, Jr. is back in Iron Man 2, but the movie felt like it was too much, too soon, after the hit of the initial film. It also wasn’t as child-friendly as the other Marvel films, with Tony Stark showing plenty of self-destructive behavior such as alcoholism and womanizing.
